Down year for the B1G Ten

At the halfway point in the season I think it's easy to say that this is a down year for the big ten. They only have one team in the top ten, Ohio State, who can't even play in the championship game because of sanctions. Not a single big ten team was represented in the first release of the BCS rankings. This non-conference season was riddled with embarrassing loses and underachievement. Highlighted by the thrashing put on then eighth ranked Michigan. The two best teams in the leaders division Ohio State and Penn State aren't able to participate in post-season play. The possibility of Purdue playing in the B1G Ten championship is looking more and more likely. If I was the big ten champ I wouldn't even bother showing up to the rose bowl because I have a feeling it's gonna be ugly
